1. What is your personality type?
INTJ. Introvert, Intuitive, Thinker, Judger. This basically means I think more than talk, come across worse than I am, and don't like to be touched. I will smack you.
2. What part of writing a blog post takes the longest for you?
Just like Faith, I think linking to people, doing tags, inserting pictures, and all that jazz that I save for the final step of blogging takes me longer than anything else.
3. Would you rather smell fresh-cut grass or campfire smoke?
I guess fresh-cut grass. But I don't like either of these smells very much D:
4. What's the last song you listened to? (And did you like it?)
Shenandoah by Peter Hollens. YES! Oh my goodness, go check out his amazing a capella tenor right now!
5. What's the last movie you watched? (And did you like it?)
Tomorrowland. Not really. It was surprisingly violent (I thought), even though it wasn't graphic. And it was pretty drawn out and a little random? And there wasn't actually that much time in Tomorrowland. It was a neat concept, though. I probably would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't planning for Camp NaNo on top of it all :P
6. What's the last book you finished? (And did you like it?)
1776 by David McCullough. I liked it, but I didn't love it. It was really well-done and incredibly detailed, but I have no need to know the strategies of every battle from 1776. I would prefer the big picture. But all the quotes and character development of General Washington made it worth the long read :)
7. Do you have a reading goal for this year?
Well, I didn't. But then I joined Goodreads, so now my goal is 50. And I've read . . . 20? Oops.
8. Would you rather use a pen or a pencil? If you chose pen, what color of ink?
In general, a pen. I like black ink the best, but blue is fine, too. I'm very particular about using the same color of ink throughout a notebook, so it really depends on which color I start with. I reserve red ink for marking things up :D
9. What's your favorite historical time period?
SO MANY!!! My favorites are ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt for other parts of the world. And for America, I really like the "Pilgrim era" (pre-1750s) and the Industrial Revolution. So if you have any really good Historical Fiction books from these eras, do recommend them and I'll love you forever. :D
10. Describe yourself in one sentence. (It's almost a question.)
O.O A budding novelist and aspiring editor with a love for God, chocolate, period pieces, and mushrooms. (Yes, I know it sounds like a lame social media tagline.)
11. Do you enjoy tags? (Or are you only filling this out because you feel obligated? B-))
I do enjoy tags. I just hope my readers enjoy reading all of my tags. Thankfully, I procrastinated so long on this one that it should be refreshing :P

Feel free to answer the questions (any or all) in the comments if you don't want to do a blog post. As a bonus, I promise to truthfully answer any question you can think of to ask me! Have a great Independence Day (those of you who are American)! :)
Ooh, I love this post! Tags are so much fun. Let's see...what is the worst book you've ever read? What's the best book you've ever read?
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad :)
DeleteI have to say that I gave "Catcher in the Rye" a try this spring, knowing nothing about it. It was truly depressing, terrible, strange, and had too much language. So I didn't make it much past the first chapter D:
I have read several "best" books :) The Harry Potter series was incredibly mind-blowing with its characters, world, and plot development, but didn't really change me as a person. "An Old-Fashioned Girl" and "The Scarlet Pimpernel" are high on my list and really impacted me. And all the other ones on my "Books I Reread" page are excellent in their own way :) Good questions!
Peter Hollens is amazing, omg. He never fails to astound.
ReplyDeleteAlso *poke* I tagged you for a thing. http://theeverstormcomes.blogspot.com/2016/07/the-power-of-words.html
Ah, YES! Someone who understands ^.^
DeleteAw, how nice of you!!! *goes to check it out*
1. What is the most epic summer you've ever had (and why)?
ReplyDeleteWhen I got to meet both Jesseca AND Emily McConnell (two of my online friends) in the same year!!! ^_^ It was epically awesome! :D
2. What is your favorite sort of weather (not temperature)?
Sunshine. With no mosquitoes. ;)
3. Would you rather live in a treehouse or an underwater cave?
Depends on whether I have the ability to breath underwater...otherwise, obviously the tree house. You can't enjoy something if you're dead.
4. Who is the most famous person you have ever met?
*sigh* Nobody. Although, I was once within a ten foot radius of the Piano Guys. Does that count? ;)
5. What is the furthest you have ever been from home?
Ethiopia.
6. If you could be a color, which one would you be?
Blue. Or Purple.
7. If you could choose one thing to bring into this world, what would it be (invention, cure, solution, feeling)?
A foolproof, painless cure for all types of cancer.
8. What is an instrument you would like to play (but don't)?
The slide whistle.
9. If you could change one thing about your past, what would it be?
To know everything I do about writing better now, back then.
10. What do you notice first about a stranger?
Whether or not they look creepy. Don't laugh.
11. Have you ever fallen asleep reading?
Almost...a couple times. But not ever REALLY.
This was a fun post to read. I loved seeing your answers! ^_^
Good point on that underwater cave one :P Maybe it's an airtight, glass underwater cave? Because I wouldn't live there if there were actually water /in/ it :P
DeleteBeing that close to The Piano Guys TOTALLY counts! Proximity is really all I can claim, too :) Although Ruben Studdard gave me a hug once, not that I really knew who he was. Apparently he won American Idol once or something and we sang at the same local performance *shrug*
Curing cancer is a good one for sure! I love the slide whistle idea xD And it is not weird to notice level of creepiness first! I think everyone does that ;) But I tend to notice eyes first for a feature, unless they have a scar or piercing or something :P
I've never really fallen asleep reading either. I've dozed off mid-sentence, or I've laid the book over my face and gone to sleep. Neither of those are quite what I picture ;)
Thanks! And thanks for answering all the questions. YOUR answers were awesome :D And welcome to our Camp NaNo cabin ^.^
Fun tag, Abi!! Thansk for doing it. I enjoyed reading your answers. ^_^
ReplyDelete1. What is the most epic summer you've ever had (and why)?
Summer of 2013. Our church camped, we camped with friends, and still squeezed in a beach trip. XD
2. What is your favorite sort of weather (not temperature)?
I would have to say rain...there's just something about it that I love. <3
3. Would you rather live in a treehouse or an underwater cave?
Treehouse!
4. Who is the most famous person you have ever met?
Probably our congressman. (Not saying the name because -- internet safety.)
5. What is the furthest you have ever been from home?
Wyoming state, last fall. :D
6. If you could be a color, which one would you be?
Uhhhh...blue. Because blue can be happy, or sad, or stormy. ;)
7. If you could choose one thing to bring into this world, what would it be (invention, cure, solution, feeling)?
A cure for cancer. :)
8. What is an instrument you would like to play (but don't)?
Mayer guitar?
9. If you could change one thing about your past, what would it be?
Hmm...tough one. I think I would have to say, cherishing every moment with my grandpa before he passed away. :) <3
10. What do you notice first about a stranger?
Outward appearance -- clothes, face, etc. I'm a very judgmental person, but I'm trying to work on that.
11. Have you ever fallen asleep reading?
Not that I can think of. :P
Yes! I totally agree with you on rain and cancer!
DeleteWhat a good reason to choose blue. I like that you had reasons and didn't just pick your favorite color :P
Your answer to the one about changing your past is really good! I honestly don't know how I'd answer that one :P
Don't worry, I judge by appearance a lot, too. And I don't even usually realize how much I classify people until they surprise me by NOT being the stereotype I thought they were. I think it just comes from being visual. We can work on it together ;)
Thanks for answering all the questions. You had some really great answers :D
Haha, I love that you use the same colour pen throughout all your notebooks. That makes me happy inside.
ReplyDeleteAlso, as an answer to one of your questions, my favourite type of weather is the crisp coolness of a Canadian Fall.
Great post! I like reading tags:)
Me too! I guess I'm just a little OCD ;)
Delete*happy sigh* That sounds amazing right now. Cool (or cold) weather is my favorite, too! :D
Glad you liked it. They're so fun to do!
INTJ... I haven't heard much about INTJs so that was interesting. Wow... have you ever smacked someone? xD (I had to ask, I'm sorry xD)
ReplyDeleteFresh cut grass and campfire smoke are kinda gross :'(
If I could be a colour, I would be pink 'cause pink is awesome!
We are a pretty interesting bunch ;) I have smacked MANY people before! Never in spite; it's just my reaction. So yes, I usually whack people in the gut. Side hugs and handshakes are okay since I know they're coming. Otherwise, don't. touch. me.
DeleteI know! I like fires and freshly mown lawns but both the smells make me nauseous :(
Pink is hard to beat! :)
Fun post! Have you read "Down Ryton Water" by E.R. Gaggin? It is about the pilgrims on the journey from England to America. :) It is one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteI'll answer some questions!
1)Probably last year. We don't really do a lot during the summer, but last year we went to Michigan Adventure (the biggest amusement park in Michigan)! It was a ton of fun!
2)Spring. Except for allergies though. :(
3)Hmmm. . . I think a tree house
4)Umm, my mother? Seriously though, she's been on TV! XD
5)Florida
6)CORAL!!!!! Or turquoise\mint
7)Hm, hard question. A cure for cancer.
8)Guitar. I play piano and viola, but am too lazy to teach myself guitar. ;)
9)The years between 9-12 when I wasn't a very nice person. ;) (still aren't sometimes, but that's beside the point. XD)
10)I have no clue!
11)Nope. Which is surprising, considering how much I read! XD
This was so fun Abi! BTW, this is my first time on your blog, and I have really enjoyed what I read so far! Also, I'm left handed, so I couldn't not check out your blog when I saw the title on another blog I read. ;)
Oh, I have not read that book. Thanks for the recommendation! :D
DeleteYay, more answers :) Ugh, I understand on the allergies bit. I love cold weather even though I always get sick and am super busy. It's cool that your mom's been on TV :D Yep, I tried guitar once and just stuck with piano. :P
I can relate to #9. I'd just be a better person. Not make some of the mistakes I did and CERTAINLY change some of my behavior patterns that were super self-absorbed. I went through a hateful and a flirty stage. But I was good at hiding both, I think D:
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for checking out my blog. Out of curiosity, whose blog did you find me through?
I hope you stick around ^.^
Um, I think Jonathan Trout's Fishing for Ideas. :) I just found his blog too and really like it. Keep up the great work! God bless!
ReplyDeleteAh yes, his blog is fantastic! Thank you so much ^.^
